At Lumino, we believe great work starts with great partnerships.

We’re a communications consultancy that helps brands get smart, strategic results, especially when dealing with complex topics like Wikipedia, government contracting, and AI-powered search. Our secret? We’re the kind of agency that actually over-communicates. We teach. We explain. And we ultimately leave you wiser and better equipped than we found you.

Unlike vendors who disappear after project delivery, we show our work and set you up to succeed long after we're gone. On Wikipedia, that means teaching you the rules and setting you up with engagement-ready accounts. In government contracting, that means helping you find and win the contracts that secure your business for the future. And with AI, that means explaining how search engine optimization (SEO) is transitioning to generative engine optimization (GEO) and providing you with a long-term plan for optimizing content for AI-powered search engines.

About Us

Our Team

Rhiannon Ruff headshot

Rhiannon Ruff

Have a question about Wikipedia? Rhiannon can help. Working as a Wiki consultant for more than a decade, she knows how to guide brands and notable individuals through the notoriously tricky platform. Also ask her about her latest skincare tricks, tips for raising twin boys, or how to perfect a cup of tea.

Sheri Cook-Sandve headshot

Sheri Cook-Sandve

Sheri knows people. Whether she’s managing our client partners or the Lumino team, she does everything she can to set us up for success. She gives the best gifts and always shows up prepared (she literally keeps greeting cards in her purse for unexpected occasions). If she didn’t have a passion for marketing and communications, she’d be running the hippest event planning consultancy.

Andrew Burnett headshot

Andrew Burnett

Andrew is the entry point to Lumino for most of our partners. He strives to understand your needs and goals and then match you to the right solutions to alleviate your pain points. He is typically found reading post-apocalyptic fiction or exploring the Bay Area with his dogs Shima and Leo. And he is always down for happy hour.

Pete Hunt headshot

Pete Hunt

Pete is a veteran marketing strategist, skilled internet sleuth and the leader of our digital listening operations. He loves to sift through online chatter to find the conversations (and public records) most impactful for your business or brand. And with a master's degree in political science and background in public-sector work, he can also assist with strategic communication and policy research.

Angie Cash headshot

Angie Cash

Angie is an experienced project manager with a sophisticated skillset for client communication, task tracking, and problem solving. When your project is in her hands, you can trust it will run smoothly and efficiently. She was born and raised in Oklahoma, but now lives with her husband and two girls in Portland, Oregon.

Colin McGowan headshot

Colin McGowan

Colin is at home in the weeds, transforming research into vibrant copy. With an extensive background in journalism, he gets the details right and the message to sing on the tightest of deadlines. He’s also the guy who brought a book to the bar and is friendlier than he looks.

Sarah Shaw headshot

Sarah Shaw

Sarah loves organizing projects and guiding clients through the Lumino process. She is a creative problem solver and is passionate about implementing efficient workflows. When she isn’t supporting the Lumino team, you can find her spending time with her family snowboarding, or exploring a new hiking trail with her dog Charlie.

Kat Spasov headshot

Kat Spasov

Part air traffic controller and part behind-the-scenes producer, Kat is an experienced administrative and operations manager with a penchant for organization, problem-solving, and getting stuff done. When she's not working, you can find her playing video games, working out, watching horror movies, tending to her garden/houseplants, or exploring with her dog Ripley.

Chelsea Callas headshot

Chelsea Callas

Chelsea brings together analytical thinking and creativity in her role at Lumino. With a background in both project management and graphic design, she leads projects while guiding the agency’s creative work. Outside of work, you’ll likely find her cooking, playing video games, crafting something new for her home, or attempting to perfect her latte art.

Megan Alpine

Megan is a writer and strategist with deep experience in content marketing, PR, and applied research. With a PhD in Sociology, Megan brings a critical eye to evaluating sources and drafting content to align with Wikipedia’s standards. Outside of work, you’ll find Megan playing pickleball, roller derby, or pub trivia.

The Lumino Rules:
What to Expect When You Work With Us

1

We overcommunicate (on purpose).

You’ll never wonder where your project stands. We share updates early, often, and clearly because no one likes surprises.

2

We speak human.

We turn complex rules (even Wikipedia’s) into clear recommendations, not jargon.

3

We protect your time.

Our goal is to take work off your plate. We don’t need hand-holding. Our process is designed to get the direction we need from the jump so we can operate (mostly) independently.

4

We teach as we go.

We don’t just “do it for you.” We show our work so you understand what we did, why it mattered, and how to manage it going forward.

5

We tell you the truth, even when it’s not fun.

If your Wikipedia draft won’t fly, we’ll say so. If a proposal needs a stronger message, we’ll tell you. If your top GEO result is something negative, you’ll hear it from us before someone else. That’s part of the job.

6

We believe in shared wins.

Our job is to make you look good — to your boss, your client, your board. We work behind the scenes so you can take the credit.

7

We respect your expertise.

You know your business. We know ours. We do our best work when there's trust on both sides.

8

We design for independence.

We’ll always give you the tools and documentation to keep going without us. We’re consultants happy to work ourselves out of a job. (Just pass our name along to the next person who needs us.)
